Trip to Rome

Or at least to Libertyville!!

As a reward for all that the young women have accomplished with personal progress this year, we promised them a trip to Rome. That trip was relocated to the Independence Grove "Events in the Plaza" (summer concert series). We had an Italian picnic while we enjoyed great music and beautiful surroundings. Thanks for all of your hard work - we wish all of you could have been there with us!

Crazy Olympics

You've heard of these olympic events: the long jump, the discus, javelin throw, even the shot-put. But have you ever done those events with the lid of an ice cream bucket? Or a Bean Bag? The YW of LV2 have! They also competed in the race of their lives by pushing a marshmallow with their nose to the finish line. And who was behind it all? Maddy Gifford did and excellent job putting this activity together. Competing in individual and partner events, we had two top finishers: Jessica and Merideth. Way to go guys!

Pool Party!

Thanks so much to the Giffords for inviting us over for a swim in their pool. These YW were stylin in their goggles and floaties, but for some reason no one wanted to pose for the camera. Ü No one wanted to get out (except to partake of the yummy treats) and everyone had a blast. Thanks for a fun night!

Fond Farewell

A HUGE thank-you to Sis. McLane, Sis. Lloyd, and Sis. Denhoff for their wonderful service. You have uplifted us, made us all feel loved, and have given us some cherished memories. As they move on to new callings and new opportunities to serve, we'd like to welcome a new presidency.

Benvenuto a Roma!

Welcome to Rome and Congratulations to our Young Women's Organization! We will have a favoloso Italiano party this summer to celebrate our personal progress accomplishments. We not only reached our goal of 4800 miles, but we surpassed it getting into the 5,000 miles range, in April! We are so proud of each of you who have worked on your personal progress as it was not only for yourselves, but a group effort! La maniera di andare!

Fast Thumbs Marissa, or better yet, knowledgeable scripture mastery gal; Marissa placed 2nd overall in the stake wide scripture chase! Way to uphold your reputation and do LV 2 proud! Give her a "thumbs-up" next time you see her :-) *LOL*
